  • @SoldierCrab I may need this after my oncologist appointment next week. I am mostly okay but every now and then the reality of it all just hits. As much as I can say that this journey is about me and self care, the reality of doing this when I am used to being the strong one is difficult.
At the moment I am just breathing, meditating and walking until I ‘know’ and trying to put the what if’s to sleep.

  • hi RozMoz
Happy to have a cuppa with you if you want to chat...

  • Thanks for the speedy responses and support. Thanks to Telstra I have had only limited access to internet for five days and had not been able to access the online network.

After my surgeons visit I had my usual sleepless night going over things. After a sleep in and a mind reset,  last Friday was feel good and fuck off cancer Friday. Each day has had a new logo and my mood has definitely gone from positive to stubborn.
I hope that while I am having treatment I can maintain the attitude.

  • Hi RozMoz, the pathology report will give all the info for your treatments.   In my case I had a follow up visit with breast surgeon about a week after surgery. That’s when the results were explained regarding er+ pr+ her2+, commonly called triple positive.  The good news was clear margins and node negative.  For me the her2 was unexpected and was a curve ball as it meant chemo, which hadn’t been on the radar.  However I’ve just had my second dose of red devil and am travelling well with it.

so while the waiting and the unknown is just exhausting, trust me when I say stressing won’t make the time pass quicker, nor will it change anything.   If you are concerned call your breast nurse or you surgeon and ask about your pathology result appointment.
  • Yay to no more surgery lovely.  I think the KI refers to the rate of growth.  No one ever mentioned it to me so somebody else will probably have a better explanation.

  • So ...the next stage begins. I had my surgery - lumpectomy and nodes removed last Tuesday and am feeling really well. A bit  of post operative pain but this was mostly due to me over doing things as I felt so good. The good news is I don’t need more surgery.
I am now waiting on an appointment with the medical oncologist- probably looking at chemo, radiotherapy and hormone therapy- yay
Does anyone have any resources/ information on KI numbers and what these mean.
