I had the sore tongue thing too and found that sucking on icy poles (in my case mini calypos) was amazing, helped to cool and numb my sore burning tongue, but be careful not to hold it in one spot for too long becasue youdon't want frostbite on your tongue.
I used to live in mirboo North, so have been through Sale and Bairnsdale etc MANY MANY times, and I still have family around the hazelwood/ Morwell area, so come through on occasion to visit (although it has ben awhile since I have ben down your way).
Good to hear you are doing well, I am doing pretty good with side effects too. Saw my oncologist yesterday and he is happy with my progress, so I am on for Monday (Cycle 2) and have to keep taking the last of the antibiotics (another 3 1/2 days worth) to makes sure the infection is DEAD.
I was told that reflux can be a side effect of some chemo drugs and they can give you something to help with it (I already take something as I have reflux from med's I take for another condition), and they really do help the reflux, so maybe you could get something to help with that.
I have eating issues in that I have NO appetite, I force myself to eat, but am only eating small portions. Things I used to love I now DETEST (like eggs I cannot STAND the smell or thought of eating cooked eggs and I used to love omelettes and scrambled eggs (just typing this makes me shudder, and feel sick, I smelt some cooking the other day when I went shopping and had to leave the area, becasue the smell made me sick).
