Scan day freaking sucks......yet again. Probable curse words included.
With only minor trepidation and my shit mostly together I went to clinic today to get my results. I stopped to give a co worker that had just been diagnosed (MOFO BC) a hug and a shoulder to cry on for a bit while we were waiting. I heard my name called and promised her she would get through and I would be happy to help if I could in any way. She thanked me with that smile you put on when you are trying so hard not to burst into tears and your heart is aching as I waltzed on in to the doctors office.
Well the whole thing went sideways and turned into me leaving work in a shaky, teary eyed mess. My goodness this thing still rocks you when least expect it.
Here we go again with another fucking ambiguous result about the mystical eliptical thingamajjigy that has taken up residence in the rogue boob. Said thingy has decided to grow 2mm in 6 months. BIRAIDS score now moved up from a 3 to a 4 and hey lets poke a needle in it this time. This presents a problem. Considering the MRI is still the only machine that can see thingy (again it can't be felt by anyone either) and it's positioning, it is probable that a biopsy can't be done in the MRI machine. Still waiting on an answer for that one.
So do we just poke around in there and try to hit it?? Cut it out or off just for the heck of it?
No body is prepared to say it is anything sinister nor are they prepared to say it's not.
Seriously, can someone please tell me how, for the love of god, you can have 4 MRI's, 4 mammograms and 6 u/sounds in a period of 12 months and still not know what this is or isn't.
So as it sits, back to headlining the MDT on Thursday to get input from group of guru's as quote "my breast don't scan normally". Another targetted u/s on Friday. And wait for an answer on whether the biopsy can be done by MRI.
Waiting waiting waiting yet again. Fuckity fuck fuck. I am sick of this roller coaster. I want to get off and my money back.
Mental status right now = somewhere between zoned out numbness and seriously pissed off.
Strongly considering ostrich tactics at the moment.

- You GP should be able to refer you to a hospital outpatients specialist surgeon appointment. Usually takes a couple of weeks or more though.
Soooooooo surprise surprise the GP would not attempt to remove palm spike as it was too close to the tendon for her liking. Refered to ED to get removed under GA. Ha bloody ha, that's not going to happen. I'd have to have bits hanging off and blood gushing out to go sit in there for 9000 hours and get put on the emergency surg board that could take two days.
I wonder if I can ask BS to do a foot job as well while she's at it????? Blah
xoxoxo- I hope you are on antibiotics for that foot, @kezmusc - and @kmakm is right!! You DON'T do things by halves!! Those palm frond spikes are not unlike stingray spikes - they go in easily enough but are designed not to come out easily & can take months. My stingray spike was a shocker - it took more than 3 months - festering the whole time! :(
Yep, I reckon I'd go with the later option for the surgery as you have it all planned, unless you can get her to do it earlier.
Great that you have such a terrific rapport with your BS, too xx. - So frustrated for you @kezmusc bloody not fair. Luckily you have a good head and a sense of humour :/ . I reckon leaving the surgery till later sounds like a good option. Sounds like you've got some good doctors anyway, but you need a resolution soon, I'm hoping for one for you.
Oh and those palm fronds are deadly so good you are having it out. Hope thats simple!! - You don't do things by halves do you @kezmusc?!
- ooohhh by the way. That stupid palm frond I dropped on my foot a month ago hasn't got any better. I couldn't wear my sparkly shoes for NYE because it was still so sore so that was disappointing. I had u/s on Wednesday and there is a 10mm piece of it sitting next to the tendon so I have to go and get that removed tomorrow. Faark

BS is incredibly lovely and very thorough so I held my tongue. MRI/US guru put the marker in after the bx as a guide.
I just don't understand with all the scanning technology available it is this hard. Not like they haven't tried to find the rotten bloody thing. I could probably push the surgery out until I get back I suppose....the farther away the better for my liking really.
My BCN calls it "a beautifully complex case" lucky I love her as well. :)
I'm not sure whether I will be more upset/pissed if turns out to be nasty or I've gone through another procedure and it turns out it wasn't anything to be worried about. Honestly I think it will be the latter. - OH! WOW! That is pretty amazing, the BS ringing personally!!
FFS - You can write a book on this one event, @kezmusc - and you are being way more polite than I would be at this point in time! Well done on not spewing forth right then & there. That takes real discipline!! And how come the clip thing isn't in the thingamy as it should be? Has it been in the wrong spot all along?? Did she put it there?
Given how long it has taken & the inconvenience of it all - can't she fit you in earlier so you can recover from the procedure & still (hopefully) get away for your camping trip? I really think they 'owe you' for this series of events! grrr

Surprise surprise, she missed.....well, maybe, maybe not. The clip is not in the thingy but is right along side it so unknown if the bx came from thingy and the clip is not in the exact position or missed it entirely.
BS says it's close enough for her to take it out.. With a hookwire of course, because we all need just one more of those right? Oh and she wants to do it on the 22nd. I'm supposed to be up the coast on the 25th. Obviously that will be incredibly comfortable sleeping in a camper.
Anyhoo so I politely said we'd discuss it further in clinic on Tuesday so I didn't say anything I would regret.
Apologies for the sarcasm. If I wasn't this pissed off it would almost be laughable.
Grrrr......possibly could just ignore the whole thing and hope it disappears or sits there doing nothing forever right?
