Scan day freaking sucks......yet again. Probable curse words included.
With only minor trepidation and my shit mostly together I went to clinic today to get my results. I stopped to give a co worker that had just been diagnosed (MOFO BC) a hug and a shoulder to cry on for a bit while we were waiting. I heard my name called and promised her she would get through and I would be happy to help if I could in any way. She thanked me with that smile you put on when you are trying so hard not to burst into tears and your heart is aching as I waltzed on in to the doctors office.
Well the whole thing went sideways and turned into me leaving work in a shaky, teary eyed mess. My goodness this thing still rocks you when least expect it.
Here we go again with another fucking ambiguous result about the mystical eliptical thingamajjigy that has taken up residence in the rogue boob. Said thingy has decided to grow 2mm in 6 months. BIRAIDS score now moved up from a 3 to a 4 and hey lets poke a needle in it this time. This presents a problem. Considering the MRI is still the only machine that can see thingy (again it can't be felt by anyone either) and it's positioning, it is probable that a biopsy can't be done in the MRI machine. Still waiting on an answer for that one.
So do we just poke around in there and try to hit it?? Cut it out or off just for the heck of it?
No body is prepared to say it is anything sinister nor are they prepared to say it's not.
Seriously, can someone please tell me how, for the love of god, you can have 4 MRI's, 4 mammograms and 6 u/sounds in a period of 12 months and still not know what this is or isn't.
So as it sits, back to headlining the MDT on Thursday to get input from group of guru's as quote "my breast don't scan normally". Another targetted u/s on Friday. And wait for an answer on whether the biopsy can be done by MRI.
Waiting waiting waiting yet again. Fuckity fuck fuck. I am sick of this roller coaster. I want to get off and my money back.
Mental status right now = somewhere between zoned out numbness and seriously pissed off.
Strongly considering ostrich tactics at the moment.
Thanks for listening. :/

- NefertariMember@kmakm glad that you don't have too long a wait for your Dad's results, fingers and everything else crossed for you all xx
- Anne65Member@kezmusc What a wonderful supportive family you have. You should be so proud of them...a testament to how they have been bought up. It is the time of year for family & yours have certainly stepped up when needed. Its great to hear that you are feeling better...as you said you cant change the results so may as well focus on the fun Christmas activities you have planned. It sounds like you have soo much on your plate, you wont have time to worry anyway! Im glad you are in the Christmas spirit & by hosting it, you will have everyone rallying around helping. Love, hugs & prayers for a special Christmas & may the new year bring good health & positive results. xxxx
- kmakmMember@kezmusc You have done a grand job raising your brood to be such great family participants at Christmas. Well done! And only one left at home... I can only dream of that day!
I love Christmas too, all the traditions, the music, and don't mind doing the big meal for everyone. It's always me as there's no one else to do it but that's OK. I don't do the clean up though!
My father finally found out today that he has an oncologist appointment on the 7th January, so not too long to wait given the time of year. Crossed fingers all round. K xox - NefertariMember@kezmusc, glad to hear that you are feeling better and the kids have really stepped up, not surprising they have a good role model :)
Praying that your results are the best Christmas gift ever and you can enjoy a sparkly Christmas xx - kezmuscMemberThank you so much ladies. You guys are just awesome. xoxoxo
Surpirisingly I am feeling much better now that it is finally over. I am trying to put the results worry in the lock box until Tuesday.
@Sister. Absolutely. She'd taken 4 samples and asked if she could do a couple more just to be safe. What the heck, I was there anyway right? No way did I want to go back again.
Busy is an understatement at the moment @kmakm. I had a busted water pipe so that required another trench digging episode after work. All the usual goings on on the property. Someone was too silly to put in for rec leave early enough for next week so I have to work Monday and Tuesday.
My mother has had a bilat knee replacement and unfortunately not recovering very well, much to her disgust, so I 've done most of her xmas shopping. Had to smash out the rest of my shopping in a marathon day yesterday.
Usual cleaning up before xmas. My house looks like it's been hit by a dust bomb. Had to hand vac the pool due to so much dust in it from the dry and winds that the filter couldn't get it out etc etc etc. The list is bloody endless. Luckily I run best flat out. No time to think.
@ Anne65 I always host xmas. I adore xmas and all it's sparkles. It's a mad, crazy fun day. There is a change this year though now 4 out of 5 kids have moved out. These guys have really stepped up to the plate with each one taking on one of the major dishes to bring along and my daughter that is still at home buying the Turkey and other bits and pieces. I am very proud of these ladies. It was all their idea, I didn't even have to ask. So that takes a big load of me.
Have a great day ladies. Happy Friday. xoxoxoxo - SisterMemberIt's good that she was thorough @kezmusc. You don't want another callback because they haven't got it. Fingers crossed for you.
- Anne65Member@kezmusc Been thinking about you my lovely & hoping things are going OK. It sounds like you have been through the wringer you poor thing & yes, I bet you feel like a pin cushion at the moment. It bought back memories of when I was called back after my first mammo & ALL the tests that were done on me that day. i was the first one to arrive & the last to leave with blood pouring from my boob. I do feel for you & hope you are going somewhere for Christmas & you will be looked after. I Dont think you deserve to be hosting it or doing anything for that matter. BUT if Santa brings you the best pressie ever with some great results, you will probably be dancing around the house drinking champagne! Hang in there my sweet & try to keep busy which shouldn't be hard this time of year. Plenty of Chrissie things to do if you're in the mood, carols, Chrissie lights, drinks with friends.........Put out a big Christmas stocking so it can be filled with good results! love & hugs xx
- kmakmMemberHope you can stay busy and distracted until next Tuesday lovey. Knowing you that shouldn't be a problem! Thinking of you, K xox
- ShakalkerMemberSuch a trying time. Wishing the best outcome for you xx
- arpieMemberGood that she gave you it a good going over. I had the same 12 months ago on Xmas eve for a call back biopsy. I’ve still got the scar, she went back in so often to make sure she got enough tissue from ‘all round’! A bloke might not have been as thorough! ;)
I’ve got fingers and toes crossed that all is good. Xxx
