Node on the lung

My bone scan result has come back clear but unfortunately I have a node on the lung which showed up on the CT scan.

The registrar that rang with the results said not to be too concerned & that we would know more after the mastectomy surgery & SNB results come back, so trying not to worry which is hard.

I am assuming from the phone call if the lymph nodes come back clear they will review the node in 3 months time, alternatively I'm not sure what the treatment could be.

I am at sixies & sevens now I can't remember if she said node or nobule, I feel like I did when I was just diagnosed, devastated.

I am on a couple of prayer chains ( thank you to my sister ) but think I am just absolutely shattered & just need a really good nights sleep.

The 10th February seems so long away. Now i am dreading the the xray for the SNB is it anything to be concerned about? I have heard that I will need 4 injections in the breast without a local anaesthetic. is the stuff they inject the same as for a bone or CT scan?

  • Hi Skitzy

Don't you just love the "try not to worry" after they've told you something they know will concern you ?  I guess it is good that they did not say "come straight in tomorrow" !!!!

As you say, once the surgery is over you will be given lots of information and be able to discuss things with your medical team.

Keep on with the positive attitude as best you can.  Keep in touch if you want to chat.

  • Easy to say isn't it? Stay positive Skitzy!

It will all go by in a flash!

I know we don't like the "my friend had" scenarios, but I have an aunt who has had a node on her lung for the last 20 odd years, hasn't changed, it's just there...they just keep checking it every 3-6 months.
