Don't you just love the "try not to worry" after they've told you something they know will concern you ? I guess it is good that they did not say "come straight in tomorrow" !!!!
As you say, once the surgery is over you will be given lots of information and be able to discuss things with your medical team.
Keep on with the positive attitude as best you can. Keep in touch if you want to chat.
