Magnesium and hot flushes

I just wanted to post this separately to the current discussion on Magnesium. As some of you know, over the last 12 months, and also prior to BC, I have put up with some pretty relentless hot flushes. Day and night!! I resisted taking anything, as my doctor said they should lessen. To some extent they did, but I was still waking up about 3 or 4 times a night, and having one about every 2 hours during the day. Some days less, some days more. I took magnesium for leg cramps, some time back, and it was very effective. At that time, I didn't pay much attention to my hot flushes, as my leg cramps were driving me nuts!!! Last week I was reading the post about magnesium, and decided to read up on it.There is a lot of information out there about it. A lot of it is credible. I also read that if you have osteoporosis, your magnesium levels are pretty much guaranteed to be low. So...for about the last week, I have started on magnesium again, and I am taking 3 tablets a day. I HAVE NOT HAD a hot flush for 3 nights (I have actually slept beautifully, and even my husband has noticed the difference!!) and during the day, I have had perhaps 2 or 3, and VERY mild. Some people might say this is mind over matter, but for me, I know it is not. I am writing this post at 9.45, and usually I would have had a couple by now. I have had none!!I will update on whether it stays like this, but I think there is nothing to lose in giving it a try. Have a great weekend everyone!!! Cheers xoxo Robyn Also, I want to say thanks to Angie, for starting the discussion on Magnesium!
