I have been on Femara only just over two months.
joint pain took a month to start, affected my knees mainly, they are VERY stiff and a bit tender when I stand up, but moving helps. Climbing stairs and hills are not as easy now though.
I had a few twinges in my hips, shins and fingers after a month, but that doesn't seem to be an issue now. Like Jane- Altona, I have a big problem with hot flushes and always being warm, can't stand the heat at all, and stuffy rooms will also affect me.
I don't have muscle aches that I can attribute to the Femara.
Plenty of other side effects though that I am hoping will ease soon as promised by the Oncologist!
Dry/weeping eyes - controlled with eye gel drops every night before I go to sleep.
Very dry mouth and lips, very thirsty always. Headaches most days, Anxiety attacks, memory problems, inability to deal with stressful situations.
Caffeine will bring on a nasty hot flush - but I am damned if I will give up my morning cuppa, it is what I get out of bed in the morning for!
Some of these I had with chemo, but starting on the Femara has made them much worse.
I guess it is just learning to manage the problems better and hanging out for the cooler weather, for me.
I too am trying not to go on antidepressants, if I can manage things without them.
