Last Chemo

Well ladies,I have had my last chemo today!!!And to think that 3 months ago I was terrified. Now I feel like an old hand at this.Lol.I have to wait 4 weeks now,and then I will start on my tamoxifen. My oncologist discussed it all with me today, what to expect and so on,and I am feeling positive about it.I have had a great run with my chemo, and I feel very fortunate. My oncologist was telling me today that she still feels strongly about the benefits of exercising through chemo i.e.walking .i have walked every single day through my treatment, and some days I have had to push myself.I have found though, that I always feel better after a walk.I hope that this week finds all you ladies feeling as well as you can,and looking forward to Christmas. At least it's a bit of a distraction from the every day stuff!Take care everyone.Love. Robyn.xoxo

  • So happy for you. I am sure that the exercise helped you with Chemo. I have been on tamoxifen for a month now and have (so far, fingers crossed) not had any major effects. I am stiff when I get up from sitting or lying down but I think my walking and stretching routine is helping with this. I have not had any more hot flushes than when I was pushed into menopause with the chemo. I have not had any weight gain nor do I feel depressed. Exercise is definitely having a positive effect on any tamoxifen side effects. I have found taking it at night with my dinner works well. I did have some mild nausea for the first few days but that has settled. Hope it all goes well for you. Have a lovely Christmas. You can be satisfied that the worst is behind you now. Enjoy! • Hi Robyn, You did it! It's over and you must be so pleased that you got through without to many problems along the way. My sister put on an 'end of chemo' party for me back when I had finished and I even had a cake with candles. It's just the best feeling isn't it. Well done. Have a wonderful celebration this Christmas and a happy, healthy New Year Love Janey xxx
