- VangirlMember@Nikig I flat out refused to do my last AC, as the side effects were horrible, and my oncologist was fine with it. None of the nausea medication helped much after round 3 and there didnt seem to be anything else on offer. The optimum number of doses is not an exact science so if you want out, say so.
- Scared_MumMemberplease tell your chemo nurses they have meds they will give you before you have the chemo they gave my daughter meds to help her anxiety of having her chemo . and extra to help with nausea

- FinchMemberSo sorry to hear you've done it so tough. I had a different chemo but on my fourth I knew it was my last . Each day I said to myself I don't have to do this day again. You're nearly there. Sending you big hugs. Xxxxxx
- Kiwi_AngelMember@Nikig u poor thing. I had a different chemo but just wanted to let u know I was thinking of u and sending hugs
- primekMemberHang in there sister you got this. For some reason I found round 4 easier as it I knew I never had to do it again!
Taxol is very different. It had its particular issues for me but I didnt have nausea or constipation on it which was a huge bonus. I just had more reflux as time went on but sorted that with medication and the tiredness crept up about halfway through. Lots of people find Taxol so much better so hang in there. - kezmuscMemberHI @Nikig
AC is just not nice stuff. Isn't it weird as I found the AC cumulative not the taxol. Round 3 took about 6 days to recover and round 4 took me about 10-12 days to get over properly. Where as the first two it was about 4 days.
So sorry you had a rough time on Taxol as well @Sister, just awful. 6 months is a long time if your feeling horrid the whole way.
Every one is different and I really did find this one a whole lot easier to handle than the AC. The only side effects I had was a bit of a skin rash which doesn't seem all that common. Very sensitive to sunlight as well. I got some mild tingling in my feet the day after but it disappeared fast. That was it though.. I drove myself there and back every week, worked, did all my usual stuff. No nausea and only occasional mild fatigue. Nobody would have known I was having chemo.
Fingers crossed you cruise on through.
