It’s booked
I finally agreed to seeing a psych for my pain trauma. I am booked in for my mental health plan next Monday and have already contacted the psych. I just booked in for my yearly mammogram check up for the good side and the thought of another biopsy, which hopefully isn’t necessary, set me off into pain trauma panic. Thought it best to get help before the possibility rather than after. I have also organised for my two yearly colonoscopy so more procedures to send me into a spin. Just as well mindfulness class is tomorrow!

- I always get told on the day. If they remove polyps they quickly check them for cancer and then send them away to be dissected by pathology for a full check. The doctor lets you know at the time what he has found.
- @kitkatb I haven't had it yet. Paperwork's gone in and then I'll be on a waiting list. If I recall correctly from my previous one they tell you straight away what they found. K xox
- @kmakm, Is your Colonoscopy on Monday, Tuesday, or Wednesday? I get lost.
- @kmakm hope all went well with the colonoscopy. ( Have to admit have never had one of those either) Hoping your results went well and you handled the anaesthetic okay. Do you find out straight away or is it another waiting game. xo
- @Blossom1961 @Artferret @kitkatb I set the ball rolling for a colonoscopy today. Not looking forward to the prep of course but now really dreading another anaesthetic. Going under, then waking up to be told... I have no symptoms but I'm high risk. Can't bear the thought of having to get on the cancer ride again. It couldn't possibly happen to me could it? Knowing my luck of course it could. * yanks big girl undies up to chin *
- There is a picoprep out there where you drink two glasses of the stuff and bisacodyl tablets at timed intervals of course. This is one I've always used. It still produces the same results! Though i do know some doctors don't like some patients using it due to health reasons like my mum, she uses a different one.
- @arpie I can remember years ago having to drink two litres of picoprep and three litres of glycoprep. I stopped complaining when they told me 500 ml pico and one litre glyco. It is still ugh but better than before. I might still complain just a little 🤢
- @kitkatb Fortunately the tube goes in and out while you are under. Some people say they have a scratchy throat after but I don’t usually. Take in some werthers or if you prefer, chocolate helps too!

- It does have a lot to answer for @Blossom1961 I hope all goes well for you. I also might be up for an endoscopy which have never had but they are doing blood tests first which I had today. Never had one in my life but am also anxious I really don;t like the idea of a tube going down my throat. ( did enough gagging with chemo )
