Hot flushes!
i have been feeling crap the last few days and I finally realised I'm having hot flushes. I start burning, cold sweat on my head and then I get dizzy. It's been almost constant today, as soon as I start moving.
anythinv that can be done? Or is this just one of those learn to live with it things?

Mine feel like a furnace starts in my chest and my head is engulfed in flames - what I imagine spontaneous combustion feels like.
@Zoffiel bahahaha your comment gave me a good laugh :)
will let the onc know when I see her next. I was dehydrated this time around. I've been trying to drink but just haven't been able to drink much as feeling quit wishy washy in the tummy. - au0reiMember
Definitely something I have only after chemo started. I finished fourth one last tues and still this cycle it's not so bad, so pee and head still feels warm. Hope it goes away soon.InkPetal said:@au0rei Sure sounds like them! ...even the warmer pee thing. Hahaha so weird. I only got that during chemo though so that's something! I think it had more to do with my external/internal temperatures being so different. I started running really cold, so everything was hot. *shrug* - NadiMemberMy onc told me that my hot flushes were severe as I got them every 20 mins when they began during my 4th round of chemo. He could see them come on several times during a consultation! Drove me crazy like that for a six months then they seemed to settled right down. Then they started up again. Then settled down again. Then started up again... you get the idea.
Last few weeks they have been ok. Earlier this week I had 3 nights where I slept through with no hot flushes waking me up! Stupid me made a comment about that to my husband yesterday feeling pretty chuffed. Must have jinxed myself. Last night had the worst night yet with the hot flushes. Felt them come on yesterday afternoon, but last night had full on sweats. I put the fan on and then got the chills because I was drenched. Had to change my sheets and pjs twice. Not much sleep. Trying to figure out what was different about yesterday and the answer was nothing. Usual diet. Usual activities. No extra stress or anything.
Does anyone know why do they fluctuate like this, ie sometimes good, sometimes bad? - primekMemberI used to feel hot for a couple of days after taxol....even flushed face.

- socodaMemberHi @Lillian67, I couldn't find an atomiser that I could carry water in (at work, to give myself a spray of mist) so ended up buying Swisse Deep Sea Hydrating Mist Toner. When I feel a hot flush starting I give myself a couple of quick bursts and its beautifully refreshing and stops my hot flush. My co-workers quite often ask if they can have a spray as well. Hilarious seeing as most of them are blokes!! ;)
- au0reiMemberSo maybe what I have been experiencing are hot flushes? I feel warm at times, more so in my last cycle of chemo (3rd one). This cycle not too bad. My head felt really warm on my pillow at night even with air con on. And I had to switch spots on the pillow. Even pee felt warmer! So that's hot flushes? I thought they must run up or down the body :p Nobody was able to tell me why I am feeling warm all the time until I asked my chemo nurse and she says chemo drugs are doing funny things to my ovaries. :|
- primekMemberI found mine settled once I didn't need regular panadol for all my chemo and letrozole pains. Apparently the anti fever side of panadol still does that without having a fever for me. I carry a hand fan. I got hot and light headed on chemo though and when dehydrated. Kath x
- Brenda5MemberGet a wardrobe of tank tops with no sleeves. I just add a light coat and peel it on and off all day. Sort of gotten used to it now. Stress can bring them on more often so keep yourself serene.
