Firstly, please forgive me it's sounds like a big winge, I'm just trying to give you the history so you can guide me whether to take the HORMONE BLOCKERS. With me having trouble with pain, walking joint pain, bone issues should I. I like you, beautiful people do not want to go through this cancer again if I can help it. Fingers crossed.xxxx. Oh gee! You know what? I think it's natural your reaction, and it sounds like you've tensed right up with the fear and stress of it which makes it so much worse, I know when I get wound up it is way worse! Absolutely an exercise physiologist will help incredibly to get you moving and more flexible. What helps me is meditation to relax, also little things that nurture you like soft music or enjoying a cuppa somewhere peaceful. Whatever that is for you....try some things you'd be amazed at how things will relax a bit Xx Melinda

You are so encouraging, that's such a relief, even though I feel bad symptoms, I've been really emotional this week thinking the worst, which is ridiculous I suppose when we've gone through breast cancer, but the GP has told me twice now that all I can do is surgery. My head feels like it wants to explode and my neck is so tight and is restricted in its movement left and right.

I'll have to find a exercise physiologist in Brisbane ....

Yes I have lumbar stenosis, so a narrowing but definitely no surgery was ever mentioned, nor would I, I don't think .I'm seeing an exercise physiologist at the moment is helping a lot stretching and working towards muscle strengthening. To be honest I didn't even know I had it, my chiropractor I told and he said so has most of the population have it, wasn't concerned. I don't really think about it be interesting to see my next scan but I don't know when that is. X

The osteoporosis in your neck and lower back, how are you managing that. Apparently now I'm told I have cervical stenosis (disease he says), which can only be treated by surgery says my GP. Waiting to go to specialist. Don't want to deal with this journey when I haven't finished with my breast cancer journey. I'm really upset, quite emotional. I've just got back to work and now I'm worried I will not be able to keep working. Xxx

Hi @Myjourney, I am coming up to my first anniversary of taking Arimidex and will be asking for a bone density scan. Not expecting good news as I already had some loss of density in my left hip before being diagnosed. I've noticed a bit of knee pain in the last couple of weeks - I was walking 5kms 3-4 times a week but haven't managed to do that for a few weeks for various reasons. So maybe not a coincidence that this pain is kicking in since I know exercise is really important in easing some of the side effects. Hot flushes I can deal with, at 55 I would be getting them anyway but bone health is my main worry. I really feel for those ladies who are having so many other bad side effects from the various hormone blockers. I think I've been lucky so far in having minimal problems from Arimidex but we are all different and we may get none or just some of the side effects.
I wish there was an alternative to taking these drugs - so unfair that what hopefully keeps us cancer free can also do damage. But we all want to live long, healthy lives so is there a choice?
Breast cancer just keeps on giving doesn't it!

I get 2 injections a year of Prolia, as Chemo caused havoc with my bones, and have osteoporosis in neck and lower lumbar. This was organised by my Oncologist and the other thing is to take Vit D with Vit C and take magnesium too. Muscle strengthening exercises too all help the bones :) x

Yeah I get that thanks, I guess I'm trying to dig deeper because I already have the deteriation of my bones, and think the blockers will deteriate bones more...thanks everyone...
