High protein/ low carb diet ideas

I’m off to have a Pet pulmonary nodule on Monday and I’m a bit confused about the high protein low carb diet the day before.
It says meats, eggs, leafy vegetables broccoli and cauliflower.
So I can’t have nuts or banana’s, carrots, yogurt or baked beans.
Can someone give me some ideas 
I’m feeling a bit anxious about it, I haven’t had this scan before.
  • You'll be fine, @Bear1966 - I wouldn't eat too many cashews either, to be sure, to be sure  ..... just the 24hrs without Carbs will be good for you .... it is also known as the Keto diet! ;)   I am 'sort of' following it a bit just now - but the beer I have with my dinner sort of negates it!  LOL

    As @Cath62 says ... no bananas (or other fruit) as they are all full of natural sugars, and I'd stay away from the yoghurt too as, unless you make your own, as they often have added sugar in them as well ... to be honest, I wouldn't even eat the wraps .... 

    • Protein-rich diet: Meat, chicken, fish, shellfish, crab, nuts, sunflower seeds, and eggs.
    • Non-starchy vegetables: Broccoli, spinach, green beans, cabbage, cauliflower, cucumber, and mushrooms.
    • Beverages: Water or black tea, Diet soda and zero-calorie drinks.
    • Some foods that are NOT allowed include: cereal, pasta, milk, breads and other sugars.

  • Bananas are very high in carbs. Just stick to eggs and bacon for breakfast but no toast or bread. Bread is high in  carbs. There are wraps in Coles that are low carb. Simpson is the brand I think and they are only 1 xarb per wrap. For lunch have a salad with protein like chicken or fish and dinner as you suggested roast chicken but no potatoes as they are high in carbs. If you want vegetables skip root vegetables as they are high in carbs and stick to broccoli, cauliflower or beans for example. Good luck.
  • Thank you, you’re right it’s just 24 hours.
     I’m overthinking the low carbs, I got some cashews, banana, yogurt but looks like they’re high in carbs.
    So I’m going to have bacon and eggs this morning and get some roast chicken later, maybe salad 

  • From memory, I ate eggs for breakfast and lots of grilled chicken & veg with cheese on top.  It was quite pleasant.  It is usually only for 24 or 48hrs ....  I was never hungry.
