Help! I've been offered Perjeta before surgery for early BC
I need advice! I will be out of pocket $9k for perjeta but am not clear of the benefits for me. I have early bc (1.8cm no spread to the nodes). and having chemo before surgery. I am her2+. Has anyone gone ahead with perjeta in a similar scenario and what were the benefits given to you by your oncologist.

My colleague and I have just reviewed the EviQ site regarding neoadjuvant chemotherapy for breast cancer and have found the following treatment schedule which inlcudes Perjeta (Pertuzumab) which you will find helpful.

Thank you for your question. I have checked with our policy team at BCNA and as you know Perjeta has only been approved in Australia for the treatment of HER 2 positive metastatic breast cancer. See thread below

The policy team have suggested speaking with your medical oncologist regarding the treatment, maybe he/she can speak with Roche Australia to see if Perjeta may be available on compassionate grounds.

Kind regards - I just finished 4 doses of perjeta on an access program so no cost for me. When I spoke to my Rad Onc she said there isn’t that much evidence yet on Perjeta compared to Herceptin for the cost.
Hopefully others that have paid for it can give you some more advice sorry
