Headspin Blues

Hi all Apart from joint pain, has anyone suffered from head spins whilst taking Tamoxefin? I've noticed lately that I get light headed easily and then everything starts to spin to the point of having to stop what I'm doing until it passes (at least 5mins). The last episode happened while I was driving which scared the hell out if me  :s

  • I get low blood pressure and its not unusual to get a little light headed. I take Tamoxifen and I have also been taking Vita D capsules. It has been discovered I also have low magnesium levels if I don't either eat a banana every day or take a pill for it. Since I have been diligently eating bananas I haven't had any of the usual dizzies.
  • The first thing that popped into my mind was BP......can;t hurt to see your GP and go over the side effects you're having.....
  • I would be getting your BP checked. There are lots of reasons that can cause this but an inner ear infection, a cold or low Bp could be the cause. Are you still on chemo? Anxiety also can do it (breath holding or overbreathing . ..we don't always realise we are doibg it )
  • Might be worth a check up with your GP just to be on the safe side. I took Tamoxifen for 2 years and now on Femara. Occasional dizzy moments but only when standing up after sitting for a while and only momentary. 5 minutes is a long time to have this happen and it is scarey if it is happening while you are driving. Is it associated with hot flushes at all?
  • Hi Aussie OK, This last week I've had dizzy spells as well as a few other things. I had put it down to having a blocked ear but quite possibly the tamoxifen!!
