Gold Coast Cancer patients.

As a member of the Cancer Support Sisters on the Gold Coast I am wondering if there any people on here who have been diagnosed with cancer and not had contact from the group.  we have meetings once a month in Southport and have a speaker usually with fantastic results for us all.  Last two months we've had a qualified medical beautician who tattoos people who have had breast cancer, another woman who we funded to do lymphatic drainage massages and in between meetings we have coffee catch ups where we just chat and laugh over coffee.  We have fabulous functions during the year and the whole group are focused on love, joy and great help to one another.  Over the past eighteen months I have come to thank my cancer for bringing me to this wonderful group of people and I have made some very lovely friendships through here as well.  we are all like minded - we can have a whinge, a celebration, a cry and everything in between.  Once ever two months one of our sponsors Chrissy brings in her volunteers to give us a PAMPER DAY.  We are given massages, hair cuts, do's, makeovers, manicure, pedicure, beauty treatments, relaxation classes, and it creates a feeling of one-ness among us.  Chrissy gives back in this way as she lost her mother, grandmother, aunts, and a sister to breast cancer so fully understands what we go through and this her way of rewarding us in memory of her family.

PLeASE feel free to contact me, as I was reluctant to contact the group initially, but wow!  it was the best thing I ever did.  I can say now that WE are a fantastic bunch of people and we love hoping others newly diagnosed in particular through the maze that is the journey of breast cancer.  <3 <3 <3
