Hi Kari, this week I had my 1st mammogram since my diagnosis this time last year. I had 3 nodes removed a lumpectomy, 30 radiation treatments and now on femara. My breast in one quadrant no where near the scar was very sore at my six month check up and the Dr said it may improve with time. I had the mammogram before I saw him this week and it was tolerable but quite sore. The lady doing it was very understanding but after, my breast felt like it was burning and I got the sharp pains back that you get while it is healing. Nurophen fixed it and now 2 days later its not too bad. When I saw the Dr and he felt the area I was very tender and jumped and he asked how did I manage the mammogram! That's when he told me I had LD of the breast and suggested I try some laser treatments and massage to break up the fibrosis caused by the LD. Not sure when I can get treatment cause it's 3 hours away and in two weeks we head off on holiday to Victoria and I'm not sure if I want to do it before we go cause at least it's manageable like it is and I wonder if it has to get worse before it gets better. Have you had laser treatment?
