Feeling Nervous
I have to be at the hospital at 7.30 AM this morning for the axillary clearance & for some reason feeling more nervous than when I had the mastectomy.
The nerves are really kicking in making me feel sick. I will be so glad to get this over.

Woot! Got one of our gang back again. Welcome back Eileen. :)
Fantastic! Can't stress enough the importance of those excercises! Don't expect too much too soon, take it slowly... Mar arm has just gotten to the straight position 10 weeks on... But I had neuralgia and cording ... Cold compresses helped me the most with the neuralgia and ask to see a physio if you get cording ...
Best of luck with your recovery

Thank you for all your kind comments.
I have just landed home & the surgery was nowhere near as bad as I thought it was going to be.
My arm is a bit swollen but I will be doing the exercises I have been given.
Love to you all.

Hi Lithgow,
Like the link above explains - Axillary dissection/clearance is the removal of some or all of the lymph nodes from the armpit to see if the breast cancer has spread beyond the breast.
This Glossary is a great place to get an understanding of some of the terms used.

Hi Eileen
Just come on to say I hope everything went well. I am sure you are sitting up in bed saying well that is behind me now.
Take care
