Hi Girls, i am 2 weeks post chemo...and as i was advised my eyebrows have officially now exited....eyelashes also very scarse!!! i have a great eyebrow makeup that i use every day called TK eyebrow extender...its wonderful and has been a life saver....so here is my issue...i am going away in a few weeks up north...and will be swimming....i cant seem to find a waterproof eyebrow solution....i found a great waterproof eyebrow pencil today from Lancome....but no luck with eyebrow solutions....does anyone have any ideas.....that no eyebrow look is soooooo not a good one!!! thanks for listening xx love kerri

I found a website very early on in my journey called EyelineHer by Carly. http://eyelineher.blogspot.com.au/search/label/eyebrows. She has alopecia and has some great tips. I followed Carly's links and I bought a sealer from 'Bald Girls Do Lunch' online which is supposed to be excellent. http://www.baldgirlsdolunch.org/?page_id=689. I must admit I never got around to using the sealer because by the time ordered and received it, my eyebrows were growing back. I think it took two or three weeks for it to arrive from the US and might be too late for your trip up North. But I only had it shipped standard post and you could see if there's an express postage. Not sure if it will stand up to the water test though. Have a read of Carly's website and see what you think. Good luck and I hope you enjoy your trip. Love Janey xxx

Hi Kerri, I understand your angst as I have no eyelashes and only a few stray eyebrow hairs hanging in there - not a great look au naturale! I seal my pencilled 'fauxbrows' with a product called Lipcote. I bought a bottle a couple of months back from my local Priceline (it's likely to be stocked nationally by Priceline). I gleaned this tip from a British chemo make-up site. It's like a bottle of clear nail polish, with brush. It dries invisible - no tell-tale sheen. I can't remember the price but it was inexpensive. While I haven't worn it swimming, I can vouch for the fact that it stays put through a long hot shower with the water running over my face, so I suspect it will be ideal for you - just remember to pat your face lightly with the towel so you don't wipe it off! I wear a wig with a fringe that brushes directly across my 'eyebrows'. When I'm too rushed to bother applying Lipcote, I find my brows are half-erased by the end of the day. They stay in pretty good shape all day if I've applied Lipcote. You may need to ask the sales assistant to help you find it. I don't think they sell a lot of it as the sweet young assistant at my local store said it was an old-fashioned product! Have a fabulous holiday, Love, Peta

Thanks for the tip about Lipcote, PetaM. I will be down at Priceline tomorrow to see if I can get a bottle. I am 19 months post chemo & still lack eyebrows. I do not think that mine will return. It is a weird look if I don't draw them on and am very careful that I don't accidentally rub them off during the day. JXL63 P/S: I do wonder if there are ladies in this group who might have had their brows tattooed, how was the experience and if happy with the result.
