dumb question about taking arimidex

Hi ladies

I have a dumb question about taking arimidex. Those taking it would know that the tablet sheet has a labelled daily tablet from monday to sunday similar to the pill. This is fine but after the second week there is a tablet labelled 'take this tablet last'. So i am thinking after taking the full two weeks worth of pills you take this single tablet last..which means this last pill is taken on a Monday. Doesnt this then stuff up starting a new tablet sheet on the Monday. Hoping that those taking arimidex know what i mean.  Would seem to stuff up the whole monday to sunday guide so what was the whole point of the daily reminder if it isnt supposed to work that way.

No instructions in the box and couldn't see anything online either.

Apologies if this is a dumb question...

  • I have been on Arimidex for nearly a year same thing joint pain and thinning hair i think i am better as time has gone on. I take fish oil liquid form and my oncologist said i would be on Vit D and Calcium for the rest of my life which i take in one tablet and i take magnesium. I have lost a lot of weight as i had Dieflap surgery and just had a nipple done so i am on a mission to also keep the weight off.

  • Iam on Arimadex and its weird as you start on a different day each month. I just follow the days in a row then move across if that makes sense lol

  • Hi andij

Yes this makes sense but does make it confusing. I would love to know the theory behind why the need to give one extra tablet per sheet. I might ring the verve number thats on the leaflet.

All seems ok so far but only been a week. I have some aches but suspect cleaning half the house yesterday may have something to do with it. I am in desperate need for a myotherapy massage to help with my preexisting aches and pains

    Take care.

  • It's not dumb. I had the same question LOL. I did work it out. So finish the pack, take the one it says to take last then when starting the new sheet just start on the day that is appropriate to the day it is. Does that make sense ???? Possibly not lol. I don't see how it makes a difference, just makes it a bit confusing sor us all.

I have only been on Arimadex for 4 days so probably too soon to notice anything much. How are you going on them?

Hey Maryrose, I noticed that on the packet, and have just continued on and finished each sheet before starting the next, they look all the bloody same to me, and nothing has happened so far, have been on them since September 2015.

Only side effect is a bit of joint stiffness, however if I keep moving it comes good. I'm taking glucosamine and fish oil like Rowdy, and am swimming in the mornings, and see a personal trainer twice a week. Determined to just be fit and well, as I'm coming up for my 1 year mammogram and ultrasound in 3 weeks. If all is well, we'll be discussing reconstruction surgery.

Plug away, sending you a big cuddle, Trace

  • Hey rowdy.

I have only been on arimidex for a week. After day 3 i noticed some aches and pains but think it was more subconscious than anything else. I have pre existing pains that seem a bit more prevalent. Started on glucosamine and fish oil and on a mission to lose weight to help my joints out a bit.

  • Hi yep I noticed this and thought how dumb. How are you coping with taking Arimidex, I have been on it now for over a month. I'm suffering from more joint pain.

Ha ha I actually dropped one the other day can't find it maybe the dog has eaten eat.
