crashing in cycles
Hi
just wondering if others experience massive depressive episodes in the week after chemo treatment? I have existing chronic depression anyway, and BC has just added to it. What I wasn't expecti...
Hi Leanne,
i too suffer from depression and found that I dropped my bundle about 3 days after chemo and generally for a week. This was when my side effects were at their worst and I just struggled to imagine continuing on with chemo. After my 4th treatment, I was lousy for 4 weeks straight. My body was screaming to stop chemo but I just knew I had to somehow keep going but it seemed like forever until the end. The thing is, normally if you are treated for an illness, having the needles, drips or whatever actually makes you start to feel better. But with cancer treatment, the treatment makes you feel so much worse. We all know that we are going to feel lousy but we push ourselves to do it. Don't be hard on yourself. As long as the feeling lifts, I'd say it's just part and parcel of it. Definitely speak to your onc about it though. Hang in there love. Karen xox
