Bone pain

Last Thursday I had my first round of taxol chemotherapy. Have completed my 4 A/C treatments. After having the tummy injection the day after previously I hadn't really noticed any bone pain. However that changed completely this time. After lunch Saturday I didn't know what hit me and it hasn't let up much by Sunday night. I had some endone. However even this doesn't get rid of the joint pain I am experiencing in my knees and ankles.
Does anyone have any suggestions.
Thank you Julie

  • I took panadol and tramadol on bad cycles.  I had heard clarytyne anthistimine was very effective for some. I didn't hear until after I'd finished . It could be from chemo as well as neulasta. I guess it's worth trying.
  • I was on TAC. Round 2 I experienced bone pain. The onc nurse gave me this advice for round 3. Take nestuala out of fridge. Take panadol. Wait 30 mins for nest to come to room temp and panadol to take effect. Give injection. I would then have a warm bath, take an endo and go to bed. I then took panadol regularly for first couple of days and I was good.
The most important thing is to talk to your onc, they will know how to help you best :)
  • @SYT thinking of you...had my first taxol on Wednesday and felt good until Saturday...I felt great until then...so much for it been too good to be true!! Hugs &
  • Ooooh you poor love. Hopefully that's not what is ahead for me. Xx
  • Hey @SYT I had bone, muscle and nerve pain on Taxol, unfortunately as the weeks went on and infusions went on, I ended up with no reprieve in between at all. I'm drug sensitive, so could only take panadol osteo and Nurofen together, it barely touched the sides. I know some take Lyrica which is for nerve pain, I could never take it, I tried years ago for Fibromyalgia but made me quite ill. Definitely tell your Team ASAP I think Endone only numbs your perception of pain, what about tramadol? Run it by them and let them know Endone does nothing, hopefully they can find something to get you through. Hugs Melinda xo
