Any suggestions?

I'm sure that a lot for you pink ladies suffer from insomnia. I'm so over it! I sleep for a few hours (perhaps three or four at best) then I'm awake for the rest of the night. Has anyone got any ideas on how to get to sleep and stay asleep? I have tried relaxation cd's, herbel teas, warm milk, tried clearing my mind (difficult) and even counting sheep. I don't wont to take too many sleeping tablets which don't seem to work that well anyway and leave me groggy next day. I'd be grateful for any suggestions that I can try.

  • Hi, first a question..are you actively having chemo treatment? If so you are probably on losts of medications. One (dexamethasone) is a stimulant and will keep you awake. I came off my dex (under supervision) and found that sleeping was easier but still took a long time to return to "normal" sleeping habbits. Ask your oncology nurse or doctor. It was interesting when I couldnt sleep, I did heaps of cleaning out of cupboards and cookng and loads of craft.
