Radiotherapy - breast pain at night

Hello, I have heard a lot about skin changes and fatigue with radiotherapy but not much has been said about breast pain. I have only had 5 sessions, and I am having strange pains in the treated side - mostly at night. Looking for your experiences and of course will speak to my specialist. Thanks
  • Hi @aj456 - I had some sharp shooting pains during my Rads .... and they occurred on & off for some months afterwards .... mine weren't mainly at night tho.  Let your Onc know .... it could also just be nerves reconnecting after your surgery too

    take care

  • @aj456 re the breast pain. They forget to tell you all the niggly things that crop up during treatments. Probably because there are so many that you might have but don’t usually have. Yes one if my side effects was pain not constant just a stab here and there. Was told it wasn’t unheard of. My biggest complaint the tiredness. More towards the end of and the weeks after. I did have a breakdown of the scar from the burning which was more of a concern was never offered the barrier aid. Just the sorbolene. Though it was over 7 years ago.
I  did survive the pain with panadol and extra moisturiser possibly the gentle massaging the cream over my treated breast
hope it settles for you. How many rounds are you having
