Prolia jab

Hi ladies just been told I need to start taking the prolia injection for osteopina I was taking the tablet and seem to have no side effects but it as effecting my oesophagus so told to stop taking them.
I'm on Letrozole and seem to be doing ok but it just seems one thing after another. 
How's are people going on prolia I'm feeling great at the moment and worried prolia will change things.
But then again always nervous starting something new.

    i have been having the monthly Xgeva injections ( sale as prolia but monthly not 6 monthly) and no ill effects that I can see.
    its very important to have a full dental check before you start taking it as there is a rare condition called necrosis of the jaw that can occur if you have a tooth extraction while on this drug.
    Also important to have regular dental checkups once on it.

    there is quite a bit of discussion and medical stuff about this treatment, mainly around jaw/dental stuff but also that it is associated with spinal fractures later… seems the way it works to build bone actually impedes natural bone growth so there can be issues when you stop. Sorry I am no expert so do your own research, but it is important to look at the details; best ❤️

    All very confusing on what to do. 
    Spoke to a few drs at work today them say take it my Dr though concerned if problems what they will give me.
    Is it worth taking because of side effects .

    You need a clear analysis from your GP or oncologist about the pluses and minuses. Unfortunately not all medication choices are clear cut, you need to know what is the greater risk. Best wishes.

    Attitude seems to be just take it.
    Spoke to my bone specialist yesterday I asked about side effects seemed to brush it off.
    Spoke briefly my Dr at work said she was concerned about when I come off it what will happen so not reassuring. 
    Speak to her properly on Friday. 

    I never suffer anything with my bones I've been off my tablets 3 weeks keep getting twitching in my fingers when I get up seem abit stiff getting up so concerned about that.

    My oncologist noted, although happy for me to take Prolia if I wish to (I don’t), that basically the improvement created while on Prolia will reverse if you come off it. So it’s a long term commitment. Which may be what your doctor is referring to. But always worth double checking. Best wishes.
