Milk fistula after surgery and breastfeeding
I was diagnosed with breast cancer at 42 years of age, 2 weeks ago. I have had a lumpectomy and lymph node biopsy while still breastfeeding my 17 month old. I now have a milk fistula, which is leaking...
It was a sad time just weaning my sons (at 16 months) but I had to as pregnant with my next child (twice had to) and I found breast feeding very very painful at that time. I can only imagine how difficult it is knowing you have no choice. Your bond will always be there and you can still cuddle and feed. Your breasts have done you proud. Now it's just time to rest them and let them heal. Kath x
