Disappointed, crushed, depression setting in!
With my diagnosis 5 weeks ago, I began my journey, High grade DCIS with 10mm close to my lymph nodes.
I met with the surgeon 3 weeks ago, then following week the plastic surgeon then today again saw the surgeon to get my dates for surgery. The Dr examined me, explained the surgery, then drops a bomb shell he can't do the surgery until the 26th May. Sorry you will have to see another surgeon and repeat the past weeks journey then try and get a date with her sooner? ARE YOU KIDDING ME!!!
I think this knocked me more than the original diagnosis.
Has this happened to anybody else?
I've booked an appointment with a Private surgeon for tomorrow. I'm disappointed as I could have gone private from the start but advised this would not be necessary as I would be in surgery within 4 weeks.
I'm shattered :( :(

Many of us know how you might feel this morning--torn between wanting to get it all over and done with and hoping you wont be able to find a parking space so you can just go home and forget all about the whole business. - arpieMemberAll the best @Trinny - fantastic that you've been slotted in so quickly.
Make hast slowly after you leave hospital - on the drive home, be aware that bumps in the road will hurt your boob - so if you know any specific 'bad spots', grab your boob in advance, to support it thru the bumps!! Make sure you take your pain meds 'as prescribed' for at least a week .... don't let any pain sneak back in by NOT taking them! Keep your fluids up to flush the anaesthetic out of your system (it always makes me ill.)
