Focusing just on the family stuff... I was diagnosed on 6th and used the time between that and surgery to get the presents organised and get the groceries in.  I went into hospital on 21st and came out on 23rd.  My kids cooked the Christmas lunch with me supervising and they did a brilliant job - roast turkey with veg and pavlova for dessert.
