@kezmusc My oncologist told me that cardiologists don't like people to take calcium supplements as they can cause heart problems. She said it was very easy to get all you need from food, and that Vitamin D is more important for bone health. I believe @Romla has looked into it in some more detail.

Why can't you take calcium on Tamoxifen.  They told me to take it.
I've been taking Calcium, magnesium, D3, glucosomine, vitamin B3 B6 and C fish oil.  Not that any of it seems to help anything.  So now I'm vitaminning myself to worse problems.  F*****g awesome.

I was low in Vitamin D too.  My oncologist started me on a very high dose made up by a Compound Pharmacist.  Dose: Five tablets, one per week,  to be taken on the same day each week . It brought my levels up beautifully!

Yes, my oncology said they were told in med school that they would never have to worry about patients being low on Vitamin D in Australia but over recent years it's more common than not.

@Joannie the truth is majority of the population are actually low in Vit D, it's not just BC, interesting, I was told this by many Specialists. They put me on Vit D after Chemo as it further depletes it. It was always recommended to me to not take any supplements during Chemo and to me made sense....chemo was killing everything so nothing was going to help 6 months on it. Once finished thats why they put you onto Vit D to bring levels up. x

@Kerry-Lee47. I would maybe talk to your oncologist but it does say it can interfere with the effectiveness of some cancer treatments so I would be wary. It u go to the website you can put in immunity and it will come up the a list of herbs. You should be able to have something that is fine to have while having chemo. 

This App is great, I’m abit confused about what it says on Astragalus. 
Ive been taking it to bring my white cells up and help with the fatigue...I’m 1 week into Chemo.
The App says it is great increasing white blood cells but then says don’t use it on Cyclophosphomide? I thought that was the whole point? Cyclophosphamide brings down your immune?
Have I read it wrong.... Chemo brain?
Not sure if I should stop taking it now? Has anyone else taken Astragalus while on Chemo?

@Joannie I think she is - I told her she should be. Mine is now in the low range or normal but the oncologist would like it higher.
