  • Hi @Marie64  -  welcome to the forum - tho as Kate says - none of us really want to be here!  :(

With your diagnosis 12 years ago - I am guessing you had surgery & maybe chemo or radiation and probably hormone tablets?     Is everything going well with you now?

I am 65 and my lump (Invasive Lobular Cancer) was detected last November.  I had my surgery in January, then had 4 weeks of radiation and am now on hormone inhibiting tablets for a minimum of 5 years.

Put up any question you like ...... and someone will jump on & answer it!

    take care xx
  • Hi Marie. Pretty much everyone here has had or is undergoing treatment for breast cancer. There are thousands of threads here on thousands of topics!

If you'd like to, tell us a little about yourself and your diagnosis. Then people who have had similar to you can write to you about it.

For example, I was diagnosed last year at the age of 51 after a routine mammogram. My tumour was classed as early breast cancer but because of my bad family history I did further tests, had chemotherapy (called TC) and then a bilateral mastectomy. Today I found out that I have a gene mutation that greatly increased my chance of getting breast cancer as well as some other ones. My tumour was estrogen receptor positive (as about 75% of breast cancers are) so I'm taking a pill to stop estrogen in my body for five to ten years.

You can use the search bar to find discusdions on topics that are of particular interest to you.

I'm sorry you find yourself here. It's a club no of us wanted to join. I hope you find this forum as helpful as I have. Big hug, K xox
