I perhaps should have mentioned that I have never had any pain or discomfort with my lymphoedema. The only time I have had redness is from cellulitis, which should be treated with antibiotics as soon as possible. Lymphoedema makes a limb more susceptible to infection - scratches, cuts, sometimes just the bacteria that everyone has in their body. I’ve had a solid red rash or red splotches but either way it needs medical attention. I keep a prescription handy. Unfortunately when you’ve had cellulitis once, it makes it a little more likely to happen again. I don’t get it often but have learned to be careful!
