On Our Walks
A while back there was a lovely thread of sunrises that the early risers among us posted. I loved it, so I thought I'd broaden it to a thread for all the lovely sights we see as we do our slow staggers through chemo, or those walks we take after active treatment has finished and we're trying to get our strength and fitness back.
In Melbourne today the weather was sunny, still and mild; perfect for a walk. I have followed my GP to a small town in the Yarra Valley (a good GP is worth the 30 minute drive I reckon), and right outside her surgery is the start of a beautifully laid out walking track. It's 7kms long and I've been keen to explore it. So today I walked halfway along it and back. At over 7kms it was the longest walk I've done since the day before chemo!

- arpieMemberWell done @Blossom1961 - I am still awaiting to see if I can arrange an OTIS in the Snowy Mountains ..... I hope so.
I take my Pillow wherever I go!! I reckon if you have your own pillow - you have a better chance of sleep as it is the right height, 'smells right' and SHOULD work for me!! ;)
Lovely pics - I hope you enjoyed your break xxx - Blossom1961Member@Annie C I took my whole machine. No way I was gonna settle for instant.

My coffee mug goes everywhere with me. It is the last thing I pack and the first thing I unpack !
All through my treatment. Even came on holiday with me last August to Melbourne for the Plan B Conference.
We go everywhere, my coffee mug and me. - Blossom1961MemberEven an Otis retreat is incomplete without my coffee machine, so I took it along.

The word picture captured the Swan River vividly. - JJ70MemberI wish I had of taken my phone on the 6am walk this morning - let's see if words do it any justice:
Millpond on the Swan this morning.
Rusty red boat bobbing in the early morning glow.
Gulls gliding skilfully overhead.
Black swan colony singing their melodic hoots, dutifully preening.
Lone pelican fishing for it's morning feed.
Cormorants hanging their wings out to dry.
Silver lined clouds to the East hiding the rising morning sun. - JJ70MemberStop feeling sorry for myself because I can't run anymore and just walk as fast as I can!!
New exercise regime includes 3 walks (plus 2x personal training and a pilates class) - 3x 6's ......... = 3 walks at 6 am of 6km - takes 60 minutes each = exercise 6 days a week. It's all about 6 for me it seems.
6kg to go - you're gone!!
