A while back there was a lovely thread of sunrises that the early risers among us posted. I loved it, so I thought I'd broaden it to a thread for all the lovely sights we see as we do our slow stagger...

that’s exactly what it is - perennial ageratum. Mine isn’t as lengthy but definitely same buds/leaves. Has a tendency to become untidy, says Jane Edmondson. Too true. But she also says they are short lived - mine has been there for thirty years! Many thanks all.
