Thank you so much for that, @Romla
I am now back from Norfolk (had HEAPS of fun there, playing ukulele EVERYWHERE - on a pontoon in the middle of a lagoon, on the only roundabout in town with everyone driving past us - and also at a fundraising event for the Island!)
The hubby is currently going thru dementia assessment now. He had a brain scan yesterday, is having blood tests tomorrow, and just before I left, had an initial assessment with the GP who believe further assessment was needed by Geriatrician (mid May.) He is also getting assessed by a specialist diagnostician (who diagnosed him with the Stomach cancer back in 2010) to try & work out why he is dropping so much weight - whether it is a mental or physical condition! He has also decided NOT to compete now in the Triathlon World Champs later this year - which takes a huge weight off his mind. Maybe he as reduced his eating as he doesn't believe he needs it as he reduces his 'training' .... but this is probably the reason for his dropping weight! Down to 52kg & falling just now! :(
Hubby said he'd bought the Sunday Papers for me (as I was arriving back on Mon ....) and when I asked on Mon night - he said he'd 'got them' ..... but sadly, he got the days wrong ... I now have the Sydney Morning Herald & 2 x Daily Telegraphs - all from Monday! LOL
Dementia SUCKS! My girlfriend 'lost' her Dad when he was just in his late 50s - he was a very practical man who owned a sheep/wheat farm - who forgot everything, including all his family. :( VERY sad.
Hubby's older brother was in secure care for his final 5 years (in the USA) from Dementia. It is not a nice way to 'go'. :( Thank you for caring.
I will be seeing the oncologist in the next few weeks & have my follow up appointment with my radiologist in mid May as well. Busy Busy Busy xxxx
