Hi everyone. Its been 15 months since my last chemo and on Friday afternoon I found out my TNBC has spread to my lymph nodes in my armpit after finding a lump.I see the surgeon on Wednesday and have been ok thinking fingers crossed it has gone no further and we just do it all again and beat it BUT I have since been reading on this website and the way it sounds to me is that it is now metastatic cancer and I will never actually beat it but can hopefully live with it for a number of Years? Please tell me I’m wrong??So so gutted it’s back!!tripletea

@TripleTea. Fuckity fuck love. (You guys didn’t think I’d pop in and not drop the F bomb did you) lol. I’m so sorry to hear your news that truly sucks. What did your surgeon say ? And what’s the plan of attack now? Have you had your scans yet? @kmakm has summed this up beautifully. This disease truly is a huge piling steam of shit (I think I may of rubbed off on her at some stage with that comment)! But we will all be here walking right behind you to clean up the mother fucker of a mess you can be rest assured of that. I’ll send you a PM. Big girl pants on again love. Great news from your scans @TripleTea I too have had a localised recurrence of Triple Negative and know and feel exactly what you're going through.I had to have another round (5 months) chemo, but a different regimen to the first time. I hated every bit off it, but knew if this was going to beat the retched thing, then I had to do it !! Then radiotherapy again as well. I'm now nearly three year post the recurrence and heading down the path of reconstruction at the moment. Sending you bunches of hugs and just know that you can do this. <3

Hi TripleTea,I know how you feel, I’m still doing my chemo treatment after surgery in December last year.When I was admitted into hospital with neutropenia and Rhino virus after my second dose of dense A/C , a routine chest CT scan was ordered, they noticed that one of my lymph nodes was swollen under my left armpit ( surgery side), had another ultrasound and aspiration to be told that there were cancer cells in one of my lymph nodes, some cells had already died that were put under the microscope The plan is to finish my last few weeks of pactlitaxel and more surgery mid July for a full auxiliary clearance. Once healed then Radiotherapy.This was after I was told that I had clear margins and clear sentinel nodes in December, and my treatment was just to mop up any cells that may have strayed.So I know how you feel about this shitty disease.I did ask my Oncolgist if that means that it is metastatic, he replied no.Dont think about the what if’s, try and stay busy and wait for the results.Try and stay positive I know it’s so bloody hard sometimes, the mind is a very powerful thing.Anytime you want to talk you can message me privately.YOU CAN DO THIS.! @TripleTea, so sorry to hear the bitch is back. My initial diagnosis I actually had a positive lymph node (1cm). My recurrence was actually in the same breast. However the first diagnosis with the 1cm lump in my lymph node was almost 10 years ago. The second diagnosis just over 8 years ago. I would expect the next thing for you will be a CT scan and a bone scan. That’s where they are looking for evidence that it has spread to your bones or organs. Fingers crossed they will be clear for you. Doing chemo again was a huge shock to me, however once I knew those scans were clear I just wanted to get the chemo done. Thanks ladies. Yes definitely a huge relief and it’s good to hear other good news stories of recurrence @mum2jj and @Goodhealthagain. I said to the surgeon yesterday “so my prognosis is good” and she said “well we have to wait for the pathology on Wednesday” which worried me a bit but then she went on to say that will determine my chemo radio regime. It is funny how your mindset changes. Now that my scans are clear I feel like I can do this chemo again and am almost “keen” to do it just to make sure it gets any bastard cells left behind!

@arpie. Nice to hear from you too !, and just paying it forward as I was so well supported to when I was diagnosed. I’ll pop in from time to time but work and life in general has me super busy these days which is great xx

Thanks everyone for the hugs, wishes & support. My scans are CLEAR! No Mets. I was so relieved I cried! The surgeon gave me the news just before surgery. The cancer is contained to my armpit lymph nodes. I am feeling much more positive now as I have done this fight before and I can do it again. Different chemo so hopefully it will be kinder. At least there’s a possibility anyway.
I’m feeling ok after surgery and hopefully will go home tomorrow. My surgeon wants me to see a different oncologist this time in Perth (2 hrs away). My surgeon is fantastic so I will do what ever she thinks is best as she is a professor in the BC field and does a lot of research into TNBC and BRCA1

That is good news @TripleTea . If having crap in your armpit can be considered good. You know what I mean.
It's tough having to do it all again, but I'm still upright and grizzling three years after being in a similar situation. Hopefully you click with the new onc. Good luck MXX
