@Melc503 you sound like me when I got my diagnosis. Mine is slightly different stage 1 grade 3 no nodes but her2+ and es+ The similarities are it has taken me a while to get to some sort of acceptance of it all. Because of the her2+ diagnosis the govt dictates to get the drug for that I must have some initial chemo - did my head in big time.
Re the cold cap ask your oncologist some hospitals don’t have them so you have to make sure treatment is at one that does. I’ve just had my 2nd treatment this week using the cold cap and I have had some hair loss but I have very very thick hair and ironically had to get a hair cut today. My lovely hairdresser has had a look and said I have no weird patches just general thinning so a success so far. I too don’t want to look sick
everyone does treatment in a different way and I like the others here don’t want to look back and think if only I’d done x or y to make sure I don’t ever have to hear that diagnosis again. I make a lousy chemo patient but I’m giving it my all cause I am going to kick this thing to where it belongs!
ask your team every question you feel necessary I tend to write them down and then hand them over to my doctors for answers and he has never blinked at answering any of them and I have asked some doozies
