Oh WoW Michelle, I so needed to read this today. Like you, I'm leaning towards bilateral mastectomy with no reconstruction. I think if I keep the healthy breast I'll just keep panicking about recurrence. I'm also large breasted so having one big one is an issue. The surgeon suggested breast reduction as an option and I thought 'why not just have it off and be done with it!'. The only thing that's been concerning me is the possibility that this cancer 'likes' breast tissue and that losing all of it makes it more likely to come back in another part of my body. I've written to the triple negative breast cancer foundation in the UK to ask if they know of any relevant research into this. Barring any problems there I think I'll just feel much happier without breasts. Dangerous buggers, aren't they!
