I had my single mastectomy just over 2 weeks ago and have opted to have my other breast prophylactically removed after chemo. I found the mastectomy VERY bearable and I felt relieved in many ways once the breast had been removed. Even so shortly after my operation I can already say that I have no hesitation in having the second breast done.
It is so difficult at first to make some of the decisions we are confronted with, but you will find the initial confusion does settle and you will make the right call. Give yourself a little time to process.
