I have a port and am very happy with it! I have pretty good veins but the first chemo treatment took 4 attempts to get a vein and then for the next few treatment sessions I had a reaction - veins sensitive to the chemo apparently. I had a port put in in December and its been great - I have 3 weekly Herceptin and Perjeta and each time I get a little patch from the nurse or receptionist and put this on the port one hour before treatment and there is no pain. When I had the first treatment after port insertion it was quite tender but it is fine now and a lot less stress than trying to find a vein. It takes a little bit to get used to - I find the car seat belt can rub on it as can some clothing but you can just make adjustments. All the best and I hope that this helps a little xo
