Tick THAT box! Chemo done!

After 6 months, I had my last chemo dose today! Woohoo! Yippee! Will feel more like celebrating though when the effects have gone and I feel more 'normal' - whatever that is. Haha. But do feel great knowing I've got this far through the journey relatively unscathed. Have a dose of neuropathy - numbness, tingling, pain in toes and finger tips. More a concern cos long plane trip to Africa next week - have Endep to hopefully help out. More drugs! Herceptin next week and this continues 3 weekly rather than weekly so my veins get more of a rest! Then radiotherapy starts mid Oct. More boxes to tick. Definitely feel I'm past the worst of it though.
  • Well done Erica! One more treatment crossed off! Have a great trip!! Vanessa :)

  • Thanks, Deanne. Nearly there for you too! That's great. The new man in my life does get called my hubby on occasions - don't think he minds! 6 more sleeps till we fly out. 12 till I see my daughter again - haven't hugged her since BC diagnosis in Feb when she just happened to be here for a week. That was special as will be this time with her in HER world. Good luck with your chemo clean-up too. Cheers Erica x
  • Congratulations on finishing Chemo! As you say you just have to get past the side effects now. I have my last Chemo in one week. It does end thank goodness! Have a fantastic time in Africa with your hubby and daughter. Hope all goes well and you can enjoy the fact that, yes, the worst is over! Take care. Deanne xx
