The Voice

No.... Not the Channel 9 version! I like... Luke, Harrison and Caterina. Back to my point. A side effect from AC chemo that I hadn't come across..... On about Day 2 through till about Day 6 or 7 I seem to lose my voice. I guess with everything else feeling very dry my vocal chords dry up too... It doesn't totally go but on my worst days 3-5 I am very hoarse. Day 8 - such a relief! I can feel the 'lift' - head and tummy are virtually clear and I almost feel 'normal' again. Only one more round of AC!!

  • it sure is my kinesologist toldme ,  if I feel like a fruit or veg in my juice check with my BCN nurse re ok with chemo regime etc..... but otherwise go with what your own body is telling you. I add 2 inch piece of ginger because then I get minimal nausea without the drugs to stop it.....

  • Will check out the website. Thanks.

Your juice combo looks good (especially with ginger!) but apples are not so good for me. Isn't it amazing how we are all different - what's good for one person may not be good for another! The trick is getting to know your own body! Cheers, Erica

  • Hi Erica,

I have been seeing an oncology trained massage therapist and kinesologist. they have both worked at helping my body cope with chemo and side effects which for me are many....

normally I am the allergy person I have 2 red allergy bands when admitted to hospital to fit all the allergies on.....

But my 2 therapists have researched for me found me some great sites for good food choices and juices/smoothies to help me rebuild my good cells as we go....

    www.emasherbs.com is a great site

I am currently not allowed my body cleanse juice while on chemo but I had it while I had a month break it was awesome......

currently juicing 2 apples 1 carrot with about 1 inch of ginger... it lasts me 2 days. about  3 glasses (250ml) in total   I have noticed a marked difference.

I have not had any infections and been on chemo now for over 8mths due to having to change chemos because of my allergies.

    Remember this too shall pass.

  • Hi Erica, I found I have lost the volume in my voice since starting chemo.... my kids telling me I am whispering but to me I am shouting ....

I also take inner health plus to help with uclers.

  • Hey Erica

Lovely to hear from you.  I glad you feeling better from day 8 onwards.

I remember a very very dry and sore  throat but don't think I ever lost my voice, it did get croaky a bit.  Mind you I didn't have a lot of people to talk to a mostt of the time except the chooks and my beautiful dog Miss Bundy (hee hee).  I do remember how dry and sore it got though and I got ulcers in my mouth every time as well.  Biotene was great for gargling or just warm salt water.

You are doing great guns luvy, Mich xoxoxo
