TC x 4

Hello, I’m two sessions off completing radiotherapy and I am about to embark/embrace the chemo journey. I’m having 4 x TC treatments and was wondering if anyone has had this type and how did you find going through it. Much love to you all, we are all doing an amazing job xx

  • Hi @NelSky I ended up proceeding with chemo and had my first treatment of TC today. Hope you are doing ok, I’m guessing you are a fair few weeks ahead of me now! Sending you all the good vibes xx
  • Hi @NelSky,
I think I am in a similar position to you, I’ve just had my Prosigna results back - but I’m in a bit of a grey zone of benefit sitting at between 2-4% of benefit to undertake a course of TC X 4. Do you mind me asking what your quoted benefit of chemo was? My oncologist said she would be supportive of either skipping straight to radiation or being ultra conservative with chemo. I’m yet to have children but very much want them in my future so adds another layer of complexity (although I’ve undertaken IVF to give me a little security).
Hope you are doing well and sending you positive thoughts! Xx
  • Hi @NelSky I had 4xTC as have a lot of people on this forum. Side effects vary hugely from one person to the next. You may have no side effects or you may get the whole gamut. Make sure they give you an after hours number for any drugs you may need. My biggest was heartburn on the night of treatment followed by nausea and constipation. Have things on hand just in case so that you don’t have to suffer unnecessarily. I had gastro stop which I never needed but stayed prepared. Antacids, coloxyl (get the strongest), panadol, mouthwash (I used aloe Vera juice), antihistamines. After your first round you will have a better idea of what you need, but in the meantime, be prepared. I was up all night with severe heartburn the first night of the first round. I wish someone had told me to be prepared. Keep in mind, it is doable and if you have queries on anything, ask away and someone on here will be able to assist. This forum was my lifesaver.
