Taxotere/ Take 2

Ok, so Thursday I start Taxotere for the first time and had a very thorough appointment with my Oncologist yesterday.  I have been fully prepared, and we discussed all  and I feel well informed.  I am still going to the same hospital and I am still confident and trust my doctors.  I have my fingers crossed that I will be ok for this 3 ahead of me.  I hope that the fact that I was well and in good health before I discovered Chemo that my organs hold up and that my system handles it for my future.  I trust in the system, I have faith, and I hope like hell I dont suffer too much because FEC was aweful.  Fingers crossed, I shall get back to you all when Im well enough.  Take care everyone. Bel xx

  • Just saying hi and thinking of you and others having treatments. It is one scary journey and no guarantees at the end even. That said, this may hold true for everyone really. You are giving yourself the best  chance and fingers crossed for you, Kathy.

  • Yeh, got a little excited about that one! Its different to FEC for sure.  Tired, aches, pains, INDIGESTION FROM HELL, constipation.  But Im ok.  I have found eating the hard bit even though I dont feel sick I have to have tiny amounts of food, chew slowly, no acidic foods, no hard to digest food, I should be on soup, but too tired to make it....lost another kilo though!

  • Mine hit day 3 - 10 then it was bliss. I am sending you all good vibes. I've gotten a cold and am now on antibiotics it just goes on and on.
  • Gosh I hope you sail through taxotere but be prepared (just incase) for day 3 to day 6.That's when the mac truck hit me and I felt like roadkill! If you sail through those days then you are probably home and hosed.

  • Not feeling sick, no wrotten taste in my mouth, hooray.  Did have a big hit of indigestion last night, but waited it out with water. Not sure if they like you to use Gaviscon when using Chemo/??  I will just have to see how each day goes, and keep my fingers crossed!  cheers, Bel
