TAC chemo

hi all,  I've just had a mastectomy and axillary clearance. 4 out of 16 nodes cancerous.   My cancer is grade 2 and oestrogen positive. I'm starting the TAC regime of chemo.  Anyone else had this and how did they go?

Hi Olduck, I have a similar diagnosis to you. I had a mastectomy for a grade 3A cancer with 5 nodes affected. I have been told by my surgeon that there are clear margins and thSt this is very treatable. I've finished chemo and am halfway through rads. Have faith that you are in good hands. Breast cancer is one of the more treatable cancers. Sending you a big cuddle, Trace ??????

  • Hello.yes I had the same.Try not to worry too much, because I put so much energy into worrying, and for me,chemo was nowhere near as bad as I had feared. These days, there are medications to help with all the side effects.I am not trying to trivialise it,because I know that some ladies find it very difficult, through no fault of their own.The side effects for me were fatigue( day 5 to 10) ,rashes, changes in taste, total hair loss( but. It's back thicker than ever ) and that's about it.Stay in touch on here, because you will get all the support that you need,to get you through.Cheers Robyn xox.P.S. Walk, walk, walk, throughout your chemo. It REALLY does help with the fatigue.

  • Hi old duck ha ha so from one old duck to the other I had a lumpectomy mine too was estrogen pos grade 3 had chemo and 6 weeks radiotherapy which is kinder than chemo.Although you get a lot of help with medications through chemo so don't worry it will be over before you know it xxx
