swollen eyelids

I have very swollen eyelids since being on taxol and was wondering if anyone else has experienced this, and if so what they did to fix it?
  • I had some twitches above my right eyebrow during my first week of chemo. Quite pronounced little jerks at night. Not getting them now but noticed today my right eyelid has drooped.  Will ask chemo onc next week. Ergh!
  • Definitely an iasue to talk to your chemo team. An antihistamine for additional days might assist.
  • It's horrible, but it does pass.

I don't know about you, but when my eyelashes finally gave up and started suiciding into my eyeballs I was a miserable puffy, sniffy mess. It did go away when my treatment finished and eased when I ran out of eyelashes but at the time the only time I had any relief was when I was taking an antihistamine tablet associated with my treatment. Ask your Oncologist, they may have some advice.

Hang in there, it's just one more thing to add to the list of reasons why no-one wants this disease. Marg

  • I didn't have this but taxol is tough on soft tissue (eyes, mouth, nose) so it may well be a side effect. Some general eye drops are unlikely to cause any more problem, and may help, but you may need to get some more informed advice. Someone else on the network may be able to advise from experience.
