Still waiting!
Hi all,
Even though I have been given a positive result from my surgery I am still waiting to hear from the medical oncologist to see when or if I am going to have chemo before starting radiotherap...
Hi Al,
The waiting is so hard! Once you have a plan, at least you can start to prepare. I had to wait aaaages (nearly 2 months) between diagnosis and surgery, and it was so hard to think about anything else. Eventually I had to stop myself going into 'what if?' overload. I just told myself "it is what it is, it doesn't matter what you think" -- this worked for me. Then there was more waiting between surgery and the pathology report, and the news was mixed -- only one positive lymph node, but a 6.5cm grade 3 tumour (they'd expected it to be about 3cm). Still, I'd rather have a plan to deal with something 'bad' than not know what I'm dealing with.
Hope your news is good, and your recovery fast.
