Started Radiation 'boost' today
Hello everyone! Today I'm on my final wk of Radiation. The boost as we call it. And I must say I'm so happy not to have to hold my damn breath for this 1!!! Most of you know I'm a radiation therapist...
Hi @Joeyliz I finished my last radiation on Monday. Thank goodness I only needed 20 with the last five being the boosts. I found the dibh no problem at all. The staff were amazing and wonderful . I seemed to be one of the extreme cases though with burning. The good thing is I've noticed where I've not been boosted I've healed up quite a bit already , as in the skin is not raw any more. At the boost site it's quite severe with open skin. I'm putting on lots of Solugel and a burns dressing over the top. I already feel as if the heat and rawness has lifted.
breast is still an awful red colour and the skin feels and looks like an elephants .
I rang the bell, which I found very moving. I was soooo teary.
