side effects - taste buds
Hi
I finished my 6th round of chemo 4 weeks ago and still have no taste buds. Has anyone out there experienced this side effect? I'm begining to wonder if I'll ever taste anything again.

I had 16 rounds of chemo, 4 of AC and 12 of Taxol. I lost my taste buds and smell when I had 4 treatments to go and that was in January. I am slowly getting some taste and smell back but considering I am 5 1/2 months post chemo I really can't say how long it will take. Everyone keeps telling me that mine will come back but I am starting to doubt it. Sometimes the smells of certain things (petrol, onion cooking etc), nearly make me sick they smell so bad. I hope your taste comes back soon because it is so frustrating not been able to enjoy your food!
