Second chemo done, 2 to go.

Hi friends

Has been a busy month, first chemo done 20.8.15 not too bad few down days 3rd day post chemo, bit of oral thrush and a mouth ulcer even with careful mouth cares. Didn't take too long to heal. Hair falling out week before 2nd chemo, had it shaved Tues. Attended Look good feel better program that same day, cannot give enough praise and gratitide to these ladies and how fantastic it was. Recommend this to each and every person going through this cancer journey. You leave feeling sooo much better and confidence boosted. These ladies that run the program are heroes. Was initially very distressed and stressed over the hair loss however after leaving the workshop and having my hair shaved feeling a lot better. Have some beautiful scarves,  wigs and gorgeous makeup to experiment with.

Second chemo yesterday, being a nurse talked to my oncologist about tweaking my dex to see if a reducing dose would last over a longer period to prevent those few bad days, fingers crossed it works. Two down, two to go. Will update those interested, I don't see the sense in having any bad days if we don't need to.

Hoping all of you beautiful ladies and men are all holding up.

Hugs and warm wishes

Sonya

Way to go Sonya, you have a really positive attitude. Glad that you got good value from the look good feel better workshop. Here's hoping that your next 2 chemo treatments are more comfortable for you. Sending you a big cuddle, Trace ??????

  • Hey Sonya.

I did all the mouth care as well but still had thrush which took forever to get rid of and ulcers. Its a bugger isnt it but it does pass. I became a hat lady really enjoyed getting different ones to coordinate with different outfits.

Take care of yourself wont you and keep smiling.
